Not just an ACC observation, but I watched 7 games last weekend, and material conclusions to 2 others, about 7 1/2 games total, involving a variety of teams, leagues, and officiating crews. And did not see 1 targeting call!
The last couple of seasons, ANY game without a targeting call or review was a notable event. It appears that the players have finally learned, and also officiating has finally matured on this rule as well. There were a couple of plays that involved significant helmet to helmet contact, but were definitely coincidental, and not targeting, and they were "left alone" correctly.
Furd was so good all through the 2010s, and now they can't win more than 3 games in a season. They should have enough money for NIL given their alumni base, are they just too reluctant to take transfers who don't measure up academically?
I think Nick Kranz like our schedule! :)
I'm so glad this feature is back for another season. Great opening week by the WFC writers.
"I hate to see Sonny Dykes happy, so I wanted to see Belichick put him down quickly." This is like a proverb from the ancients.
Florida State looked really good. We were lucky to have them on the schedule last year, when they were 2-10.
And we still lost to them....
I don’t know if I should be excited for the rest of the season or apprehensive about another letdown…
2 things can be simultaneously true.
