This season we go around our writers for their takes on the other conference games that went on in gameweek.
Oklahoma State @ Arizona State (Arizona State loses 15-27)
TD_24 - Admittedly didn't watch a single second but ASU held well for 3 quarters so better than their SUU performance.
Berkelium97 - I'm going to be honest and say that this is the first time I'm hearing about this game (it's currently Tuesday afternoon). The score is closer than I expected given ASU's lackluster opening game.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Going to miss the State of Arizona not being a bottom feeder anymore.
Christopher_h - ASU looked surprisingly confident for about a half before the defense fell apart.
UCLA @ San Diego State (UCLA wins 35-10)
TD_24 - SDSU's offense still has not figured it out in the Brady Hoke era. Dante Moore may be the future.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - With their second win on the year they match their 2024 win total in the Big10.
Christopher_h - UCLA has one of the best defensive lines in the conference. They look to be a bad matchup for any run-heavy team.
Arizona @ Mississippi State (Arizona loses 24-31 in OT)
TD_24 - Jayden "De Laura's" it up and then almost wins it for Arizona. Tough loss in what could have been a statement game.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Going to miss the State of Arizona not being a bottom feeder anymore.
Nebraska @ 22 Colorado (Colorado wins 36-14)
TD_24 - Colorado vs Oregon. Colorado vs USC. Must. See. TV.
Berkelium97 - Colorado is quickly turning into a typical USC team: constant dumb unsportsmanlike penalties, players getting chippy for no reason, and players celebrating prematurely (like Sanders standing up and emphatically putting his hands on his hips to celebrate a 14-yard run that turned 2nd and 23 to 3rd and 9. Colorado then received a penalty for a false start, threw an incomplete pass, and then punted from the Nebraska 35). Nevertheless, putting up 36 on that Nebraska defense was pretty impressive.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Deion backs it up again.
Christopher_h - The Matt Rhule era at Nebraska is off to a strong start.
19 Wisconsin @ Washington State (Washington State wins 31-22)
TD_24 - Cougs almost Coug'd it but Jake Dickert has this campus and team inspired.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - GO COUGS
Christopher_h - Haven't watched this one yet, but another win for the Pac-12 underdogs. Wazzu has a little extra fire trying to prove they can compete with anyone in the Power 5 (4?).
UC Davis @ 16 Oregon State (Oregon State wins 55-7)
TD_24 - The Pac 12 North version of utah's eat, sleep, punish, repeat.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Beavs need to keep it up and the conference is theirs. USC/Utah look gettable and it isn't as cut and dry as everyone predicted it would be.
Christopher_h - UC Davis is a Cal OOC opponent next year (as was UCLA's opponent, SDSU). Hopefully Cal also takes care of business the way Oregon State did this year.
13 Oregon @ Texas Tech (Oregon wins 38-30)
TD_24 - Tosh almost Tosh's it up but the Ducks dip from Lubbock with a win. All you can ask for.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - meh
Christopher_h - Really sloppy game out of Oregon, but they put it together in the 4th quarter for a comeback victory. This game shows why I wasn't as high on Oregon as, say, Utah or UW. Oregon normally has a stout offensive line, but they're going to need some better run blocking if they want to hang out at the top of the conference.
12 Utah @ Baylor (Utah wins 20-13)
TD_24 - Before Cal vs Auburn, this would've been the bleach your eyes game of the day. Utes need Cam Rising back
Berkelium97 - I'm still in disbelief that the Utah defense let a receiver get past them on a hail mary. That one was uncomfortably close at the finish.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - <therockeyebrowraise.gif>
Christopher_h - A lot will be said about the weirdness of that ending, but Utah is a team that always finds a way to win those improbable games. Must be nice.
Stanford @ 6 USC (USC wins 56-10)
TD_24 - USC will get its test vs Colorado
Berkelium97 - LSJU could not string a drive together. They had 13 possessions and only 3 went for longer than 5 plays. They had a handful of explosive plays (nearly half their yards came on 5 plays), but it's hard to be competitive when those plays don't translate to points, particularly against an offense like USC's.
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Stanfurd is who we think they are? Troy Taylor doing his best Sonny Dykes impression.
Christopher_h - Pretty much everything went USC's way in the first half. I'm still waiting to see how USC fares against a competent defense, but it won't be until the second half of the season that USC is really tested, and their second half schedule is probably one of the toughest in the country.
Tulsa @ 8 Washington (Washington wins 43-10)
Christopher_h - Not surprisingly, the UW defense completely dominated Tulsa. What was surprising however was how poorly the UW receivers played, with way too many uncharacteristic drops. UW won comfortably, but this could have looked way worse for Tulsa.
Any other thoughts?
TD_24 - Pac 12 is really, really good. Damn you Larry Scott
Berkelium97 - 8 Pac-12 teams in the top-25. It's a great time to join the ACC with teams like Virginia (who lost to James Madison) and Boston College (who had to force a fumble deep in their territory in the final minutes to beat Holy Cross).
Former Twitter User MPete91 - Go Bears, Beat the Fighting McMurry's.
Christopher_h - Cal needs to stop letting out of conference opponents bring their own refs with them (ND, Auburn, etc). Neutral 3rd conference next time, please.
The refs were atrocious in the Auburn game
Wiping out Sirmon's scoop and score was an omen. Also, the phantom holding call on Carlton and Ifanse's fumble-that-wasn't. Hopefully this week with a normal PAC 12 crew will make a difference.

Amen, Prime goeth before the fall.
Be careful, Buffs, hubris makes one a target and a plaything of the Fates.
