Oh you've just gotta watch the Bears so long as you're around. I know I'll be watching until my lifeblood ebbs.

TE remained a mystery throughout the season. Very little productivity even from 4-star Jermaine Terry. Something obviously was wrong with Musgrave's scheme, and the blocking and pass catching was seldom satisfactory. I expect that to change next season. Also, note that we were able to execute a number of WR screens against UCLA because the dudes blocked, whereas in all the other games including Colorado they whiffed on their blocks or were victims of an ineffective scheme. Weird.

All in all it was weird year for the TE's. Under Bill, they'd be in for a max protect but then run drag routes which seems completely counterintuitive. Under Geep, they were used like lead blockers in the zone read concepts, which establishes a purpose for them. I definitely need to see more.

I think Musgrave may have been even more incompetent than we suspected before his firing. His termination may have been more of a "I'm done with this guy" instead of a "I'm sorry I have to do this."

It's not like TE is a position that was invented recently.
