Watched enough of both teams to think this will be the most entertaining game of the season. It always seems like Cal and Arizona are evenly matched in overall talent to produce close games. Too bad only 20,000 people in the stadium will make it seem like a neutral site game.
Bowl eligibility will basically come down to if we win this week against Arizona and next week against WSU. Lose both and I doubt we 6-6. Ideally we would win both but at a minimum we need to split these next two games.
Given the reality of a poorly coached offense and below-average O-line, 6 wins is now the absolute ceiling for this team. Calbears91 may call me a Nega-Bear [ ;-) ], but I really think getting a win at the Palouse will be very challenging...they'll dial up pressure and overwhelm Cal's poorly coached OL, like they did last year...unless Plummer can drastically improve his accuracy, it's fair to say Wazzu's pressure will be an obstacle.
This game is HUGE for our Sun Bowl dreams, and now Colorado is a must win, even on the road at altitude. IF you get U of A, and Colorado, you're at 4...then you gotta get Stanford at home, and somehow steal a roadie in Corvallis or grab an upset at home v. UW/UO...SC's gonna hang 50 on the Bears, and if DTR and Charbonnet are healthy, the Bruins will probably control things as well.
Sad to think the coaching staff could possibly have the Bears unprepared to play a bottom tier P12 team that Cal hasn't beaten in over a decade...but a flat effort is a very real proposition!
Trap, how so? The -4 is for home field advantage so it is a pick'em game as far as I can tell. The formula to beat Cal is out on the table and Cal can't do anything about it.
4.5 sounds about right. I know usually the Arizona game is strange, but hopefully this weekend there will be a comfortable victory, if there is such a thing.
Not just a huge game, but a must win for bowl eligibility. With the rest of the conference improving so much, it's hard to see where we'll get 4-5 more wins - Arizona, Colorado, WSU, and Stanfurd. If we don't win any of these four games, then we'll need an upset and I don't know if our offense can pull one off - UW looks solid, Oregon is still good despite the opening loss, USC is actually playing well-coached and disciplined (for them) football, Oregon State is competent, and UCLA is inconsistent but dangerous on offense.

Gotta have Saturday...we shall see...
We all know we're absolutely cursed against Arizona. Is this the year things change? They've managed to field an average team this year.
This has trap game written all over it

No such thing as a comfortable victory under Wilcox, golden...but it’s a HUGE game if this team is gonna reach bowl eligibility.
I’m seeing a close Bears win...call me crazy.
