Ouch, this one hurt today. Cal out-hit the Jackets 12-10. Of GT’s 10 hits, though, 7 were homers! Cal left scores of baserunners on, while GT left only four baserunners on base all game. Great pitching by Cal’s Tremaine in the second through sixth innings. Otherwise, a hugely frustrating game.

I wonder who’ll start today for the Bears. Bougie pitched pretty well in his start on Saturday, but that opportunity was really granted him b/c it was senior day. Who else do the Bears have that has any starting experience and hasn’t pitched already in the past two days? To me this one looks like a bullpen game. Meanwhile GA Tech is well rested and should send out their ace. Based on these factors alone, Cal should be a deep underdog. But if they can meet their thirteen run average so far in the tournament, of course they’ll have a great chance to advance. But, I think that’s what it will take-a TD and two FG’s. Prediction: Cal 13-12.
