Croteau sucks. They call him "croteautype" because he looks like he should be good, but he just isn't. He's another Evan Tattersall, just gets blocked out of plays and is completely ineffectual. And how is Nate Rutchena not a starter? He was probably our biggest defensive playmaker last year as a freshman.
If the snap spread for 7s and 11s doesn’t lean towards Johnson, Millner and Plummer by the first scrimmage next week. That’s when I would be concerned. As for today it’s just having enough QBs for rotation in multiple QB-necessary drills and having a dedicated QB in each lineup. I’m pretty sure that’ll change as Plummer gets more comfortable with the playbook.
Glover getting any snaps should be cause for alarm. I understand QB throwing drills and having enough arms to throw routes for receivers, but throwing a pick suggests a live rep vs a defense, and that's a rep that must go to either, Plummer, Millner,, or Johnson.
My reading of it is for OL purposes. Since they’re trying out a bunch of different guys everywhere. Its not a situation where it’s getting drives down the field aka a team period. It’s just quick plays all from the same LOS. I understand the concern but I don’t think it’s that big of a deal unless the distribution continues to be even as spring ball progresses. Days with shells will be more telling that just these days with spiders.
I think we should try out an "opener" strategy like baseball. Use your 3rd string QB on the opening series, go to the 2nd string for a couple series, then bring out your fresh QB1 starter for the rest of the game.
But I do agree with Boberino -- it would be nice if the reporting press put a little more pressure on Wilcox re: why the FUh does he never play his backup (not to mention name your worst qb as your #2)
I'm not sure about Johnson, but pretty/very sure Millner was at the AZ game. For his own reasons, Wilcox simply thought Glover gave them the best chance even as the game slogged on, minute after agonizing minute, and thought they could some how eek it out and move on.
Up big on Stanford late and no backup gets a rep also annoyed me. For one of these guys, who could end up giving 4-5 years to the program, that could've been their only chance to ever play in a Big Game.
Exactly. I've been saying that about Wilcox all along. It's like there's a joy of the game that is missing, and its everything is just calculated to secure a technical W on the W-L record.
Part of me also wonders if he feels burned by his decision to play Chase Forrest in the 2nd half of the Cheeze-Int Bowl game, RE: his QB strategy since then.

Why are you thinking the NT starter would be Correia and not McKenzie?
Two Picks, ugh. In Milner (or Plummer) we trust.
I hope Glover never sees the field this year....
Glover has picked up right where he left off.
He’s only here for the spring. Really just here as vet presence in the QB room that will be pretty young in the fall
That doesn't make sense at all. Why take reps away from a potential starter and give them to someone who's just filling out the QB room?
Yeah, I agree that it makes no sense for Glover to get any practice reps.
With that said, watch him be listed as the 2nd string to start the season.

To get our DBs some INTs, it seems!
Talk about confidence booster!
I want Wilcox to commit to bludgeoning every team by at least 24 if possible. Then the band can play the last two minutes.
All signs point to no.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. A 17 point lead isn't anything in today's game.
Yeah…no
