OMG, Cal is just so Cal!

I really appreciate you pointing out the absolute collapse of the team again and again this year after going up early. IMHO, this is not about schemes and coaching, but rather about mental toughness, intestinal fortitude, and yes I'll say it - pride. Sadly, this continues to be lacking in Strawberry Canyon. I'm hoping Tosh will bring mental toughness and pride to the GBs going forward, as it is sorely needed. If not, the fanbase will just continue to shrug their shoulders and say "Cal is Cal and will always be Cal", and we will be stuck in the middle or lower tier of a bad ACC conference. We need some smash mouth football at CMS in 2026 - PLEASE!

You said it all....thanks for a great year of WFC and your support of our Golden Bears. On to the portal!

At the end of the day, week or season it comes down to the same basic thing. Line play.

Wilcox's failure was insisting on playing dirty games that by NECESSITY require good line play on both sides of the ball...and yet, he never had that. The ability, or lack there of, to control the line (on both sides) is a basic principle of good football. While ALL may call from the mountain top for better WR, RB, LB or CB the quickest turnaround will be at either side of the line. THAT is where the NIL funds should go to (Jan 2 can't come quick enuff). Line play was, at best, decent for 1.5 quarters. In short, awful.

Side Note:

Moko is not welcome back to Cal, EVER.

Is Ferrelli transferring? He mailed that game in, never have I seen him play so poorly.

That was super disappointing. Still, I'm happy for Hawaii...they needed and deserved that.

Reading the stats and reactions, and watching the highlights, you might have suspected Hawaii deserves some of the credit. I certainly did.

Hawaii only really won because their receivers kept making outstanding catches while draped in coverage -- barring the two (?) TDs Masses gave up. Without those near-miracle plays, we still eek this one out.

I guess if you have to lose a game, doing it with Hawaii on their home field is a good scenario

We'll be seeing a lot of new faces this off-season, and not just the coaching staff. This game just confirmed what we already knew and are addressing.

The lack of discipline is inexcusable, including but not limited to the fight. Tosh should be free to do whatever he feels is necessary once he's on campus.

"Cal promoted Terrence Brown and Vic So'oto to Co-Defensive Coordinators under Wilcox, who was then fired as head coach in November 2025" That's like saying I am going to have two CEOs run the company. No wonder it look like the DB's were like not sure who's covering who or what the hell is going on out there....

In other words there was NO defensive coordinator in charge of the entire defense. It showed every time the going got rough.

Just like we had an open QB competition for two years no knowing we had a future first round pick and 2025 Heisman winner!

Thanks TD. Well said.

Should be an interesting offseason.

I was wondering why Cal's defense felt so trash this year. Turns out we are the 109th ranked 4th down defense. When it really matters, our defense will just give it up. Oh, and we couldn't sack a QB if the game dependent on it. Or at all. 101th. (According to stats at ncaa.com).
