The California Golden Bears have lost their last six games against the Oregon Ducks at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Ore.

Las Vegas oddsmakers do not expect the California Golden Bears (1-4, 0-2 Pac-12) to secure an upset against a top-10 team this week.

The Golden Bears travel to Eugene, Ore., to face the No. 9 Oregon Ducks (4-1, 1-1 Pac-12) in Autzen Stadium on Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, as two-score underdogs.

The most recent Cal v. Oregon college football betting odds is California +14 and a 55 and one-half total, as of Oct. 10, according to VegasInsider.com, an aggregator of legal U.S. sportsbook operators’ publicly available odds.

California is a 14-point underdog, and the total for “over-or-under” total score bets is 55 and one-half.

According to VegasInsider.com, the Cal v. Oregon betting spread opened shortly after 11 a.m. Pacific on Sunday at the Circa Resort and Casino sportsbook in Las Vegas.

Later Sunday afternoon, other sportsbooks began publishing their offered odds, largely the same as Circa’s. However, DraftKings and the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino opened their betting lines at California +14.5. After early bets, DraftKings has since updated its line to California +14 shortly after 2 p.m. Pacific.

California has lost the last six games at Oregon, but the Golden Bears secured a 21-17 upset at home last season on Dec. 5, 2020.

Both teams sat idle with a bye this weekend.

I think we were 14-point underdogs when we beat UW at their stadium. Now that Cal has gotten their losses out of the way early in the season, it only makes sense that we start beating heavily-favored teams in this season of chaos.

I attended a Cal game at Oregon in 2003, Rodgers first season at Cal. Cal made it close, but no cigar.

Nicely designed stadium, though not that big (at least then). What was nice about it, for fans at least, is that it is tightly snugged against the field and the stadium is as close to vertical as it can be (opposite of the Rose Bowl), both dimensions making for a fan view that is as close to the field as it can be.

Great place to bring a son or daughter to the game, as Oregon has a big field house next to the stadium which, then at least, allowed kids to practice kicking field goals indoors.

If Cal somehow beats Oregon we have an outside shot (very) for a six win season and a bowl game.
