Cal v. Southern Methodist Kick-Off Time Announced
Cal's last regular-season game against SMU will be an afternoon game
The California Golden Bears (5-5, 1-5 ACC) will play their last regular-season game at Southern Methodist (9-1, 6-0 ACC) on Saturday, Nov. 30, at 2:30 p.m. Central, according to an announcement from the Atlantic Coast Conference on Monday afternoon. The Cal v. SMU game will air on ESPN2.
The California Golden Bears and Southern Methodist Mustangs are both newcomers to the Atlantic Coast Conference, and each team has had a divergent path in its inaugural season of the predominantly East Coast-based league. California has earned only one ACC win this season, placing it second from the bottom of the conference standings; in contrast, Southern Methodist sits at the top of the table with a perfect in-conference record.
Cal and Southern Methodist had previously met on the gridiron once before. SMU won that game, 13-6, in Berkeley, Calif., in 1957.
