It’s difficult to follow a team that plays its “home” games so far from Berkeley. Thank you, Callie, for covering the games, such as they are, with diligent detail and enthusiasm. This season is a gap year of sorts, and I hope that the momentum built during Spencer’s tenure can be regained once the Bears return to Strawberry Canyon next year.

Thank you! Writing about tough losses is never fun, but knowing my readers enjoy my work helps make spending Monday & Tuesday evenings/nights typing away all the more worth it!

I look at our situation the same way: we’re in a gap year. It sucks, but sometimes we have to go down in order to go up. I’ve seen some momentum in the recruiting space already, and Singleton seems to have a good plan for ascending the mountain.

Not to create more (excellent) work for you but an article on these two items would be really interesting: recruiting momentum and the plan for getting to the top — or at least relevance again!

I was going to do that at the beginning of the season, but the timing just didn't work out. I plan on sitting down with Singleton closer to the end of the season to talk recruiting and the future so hopefully that gives you the answers you're looking for

I went through the box scores and noticed the Bears didn't strike a single Nole out over the entire series. This has been an ongoing problem all season, the team has struck out just 70 batters in 207 innings. In contrast, last year's so-so pitching staff struck out 232 in 366 innings. I haven't been able to actually see the games but the numbers suggest that the pitchers might not be necessarily doing anything wrong, but just don't have enough stuff to match up well with P4 hitters.
