Cal Women's Swimming defeated Stanford 178-117, taking 11 of 16 events from The Farm this afternoon. This is Cal's first dual meet win over Stanford since 2015 (since they got Katie Ledecky and so much depth that they had to leave one or two NCAA qualified swimmers home) and the first one at Stanford since 2006 (Stanford typically had more depth that's better for the dual meet format than the conference and national championships). No Taylor Ruck for Stanford; I don't think they will be an NCAA championship contender this year.
Incredible athletes. Every time I see those giant Water Polo guys with their torso out of the water, hanging out, I recognize the difference between a good athlete and an elite athlete. Scissor kicking for extended time is freakishly hard, and I think most people think the pool is shallow and they are standing on the bottom.
WFC: thanks for keeping Cal Olympic Sports (NOT secondary sports) in the limelight. Much appreciated!

Thanks for covering these sports which don't get the attention they deserve, with the major sports not being relevant (yet) on the national stage.
