No excuses, we stunk. I don’t care who you game planned for, learn to beat a backside blitz for gods sake! And throw the ball all the way to the open man. My biggest concern is OLine play; too many hits/hurries, and an anemic rushing game

On the bright side, just imagine how bad it would have been had we actually played a good team.

A tin lining- defense in the second half was actually pretty acceptable, as UCLA only scored one touchdown in the last thirty minutes of the game. They might not have been trying especially hard but Chip Kelly always loves running up the score when possible.

I don't think I have felt this level of apathy over an ugly Cal loss since Sonny's first season, and I'm not sure whether that's a good thing or not...

Reply fail: this was a response to tackling sucking......

At least Goff and Rodgers had good games today, with both the Rams and Packers victorious. Garbers, not so much. But he was running for his life on every passing play it seemed.

I’ve written this whole season off already. Hopefully the staff can get things together in the off-season

I don't really want to read too much into this game because of all the variables except for one thing: tackling. that was rather horrific and one would think no matter what the scheme or experience disadvantages that a defense first team would actually be able to wrap someone up when they get to him but they didn't. We're gonna have a long season ahead of us...

I thought Sirmon/Wilcox would field an elite defense every year (or just very good) but this game was Buh-like in the level of ineptitude. I just hope lack of practice time is the reason.

I’m concerned about the O line, a supposed strength of the team. They got manhandled by a D that gave up over 500 yds of total offense last week.

Different year, new OL coach but same concerns. A lot of returning starters and players with experience so I am also concerned about the OL....again.

Wonder traveling is a greater disadvantage than usual this year.

kinda balanced out by not having a crowd though

The bigger disadvantage is the lack of a fall training camp to implement a new offense. That really showed today, and it’s tough to see that timing improving in such limited time, especially on a short week.

Did Garbers and Brown break the record for most passing and rushing yards

ever on Sunday?

aren't some bowl games played on Sunday?

Brown Jr. probably ran for more last year against Washington. He ran for 80 yards total with only a small fraction being on Saturday.

I got curious enough to do the math. Brown ran for 74 yards on Sunday '19 compared to just 25 yards on Sunday '20.

Garbers threw for 111 yards on Sunday '19 compared to 122 yards on Sunday '20, so he probably has a record for regular-season Sundays.
