Sophomore eMjae Frazier and junior Mya Lauzon finished second and third, respectively, in the all-around. Frazier scored 9.9 or higher in three of the four rotations and Lauzon tied for first in both the balance beam and vault. Senior Andi Li tied for the win on the uneven bars with a 9.950.
The Bears were in third place after the first rotation, scoring 49.275 on vault, which is tied for their second-lowest score of the season in that event. But Cal surged into second after the next rotation, registering the highest team score of the night on bars with a 49.475. They matched that score on balance beam to move into first place, and ended the night with a flourish, going 9.9 or higher on all five counted scores on the floor exercise.
Cal will look to return to the NCAA Championships for the third time in four years. Either way, this will be the final time they will be in front of their home crowd. If you’re in Berkeley, we encourage you to come out to Haas Pavilion to see this version of the Bears perform one last time in the Bay!
Onto nationals again!!!!
Women are on track to win the gymnastics regional. Pretty good lead halfway through the fourth and final rotation.
