My sweet old vizsla pup is going to start an herb treatment tomorrow for her cognitive decline...my holistic vet that's going to do the in-home euth when that day does come is a practitioner of Eastern medicine and has a number of herbs she wants to give the baby girl...we'll see how they work.

Yeah, your Allie isn't nearly as bad as our Minnie was. It was the reverse proportion of good to bad times for her near the end. No good. This is why I said that we probably waited too long. I had a very hard time saying it was time.

She’s been to 48 states, 34 US National Parks, 9 ballparks, including peeing on the warning track of both Petco Park and Chase Field, and been through both a marriage and an incredibly satisfying divorce…she’s seen a lot!
This reminds me that I need to scatter a bunch of California Poppy seeds along the side of the house. I did that several years ago and we've had great spring blooms since, although by last year they started getting a little sparse.
The ginger that you typically in the grocery store is Zingiber Officinale. The pickled ginger you see at Japanese restaurants is Zingiber Mioga, a different species.
Other gingers that a related but different species are: galangal, turmeric, and cardamom. And there are several different species of galangal (eg, blue ginger) and cardamom.

The Last of Us Ep.3 (HBO): Superbly acted, achingly sweet episode. It's a big departure from the source material, but I appreciate that they took the opportunity to craft a rare feel-good story in such a grim, bleak universe. 19/19 WB

Tar (Da Cock): Cate Blanchett was terrific in it. The movie was a deep dive into a world in which I know very little about so I was a bit lost on the names and jargon being used for the first hour. It seemed to be going for a subtle horror twist subplot but that is only vaguely explored and doesn’t amount to anything. In the end it is about a woman in a position of power that goes to far and abuses her power, which leads to her downfall.
Almost done with RRR, a very enjoyable bit of action fluff as long as you expect no more than that from it. I wish they edited it down to be a bit shorter, but the two dudes are super badass and enjoyable to watch, so I will forgive the exiting team’s indulgence. Whatever happened to these type of bromance movies in Hollywood? 15/19, WB
I found it to be unwatchable crap and turned it off after an hour. Indian films just dont do it for me, I've tried many many times and have only been able to get through a few of them

I'd appreciate any help from someone who knows better than I, but I thought I read somewhere that pitchers who have more severe elbow problems often elect for the Tommy John surgery even though a less severe repair surgery will do. From what I recall, the thinking is that the TJ surgery leaves the elbow ligament stronger than a repaired ligament and the longer rehab/recovery time is worth it. If that's right, I wonder if Brock is going through the same thought process as a football player. It would certainly kill a year of his career, but maybe it's worth it.
Rehabbing these serious ligament issues rarely works, at least in baseball....the arm strength just rarely is there without the rebuild. The statistics for the same injury in football players is less clear, as it is by far a less common injury to QB's.
Personally, I'm expecting the kid will end up having TJ surgery and will be out for the '23 season...prepare for Rodgers, Brady, Carr, Garoppolo, Cousins and Ryan rumors to San Francisco for the next 6 months.
Some do prefer PRP injections, I think when it is a partial tear. Muncy's is his non-throwing arm so I think he did the PRP injections. But he is a lefty swing so it's his power arm and maybe some of his issues this last year? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Because of the constant hard throwing, a UCL injury in a pitcher is usually a chronic condition, even if it ultimately ends in an acute catastrophic tear. As a result, there is usually considerable cumulative damage.
Purdy's tear was a traumatic event, not an overuse injury, and may well not have much collateral damage, which could make it a better option for repair, depending on the exact nature/location of the tear. If its "mid-ligament", it could well respond well. Where it gets more problematic (with any ligament) is if the ligament tore off the the bone, or tore immediately adjacent to the attachment point.

Good to hear, I just finished ep2 last night and was not looking forward to what was coming, although I am totally hooked

We watched it over the weekend and although there were strong performances I was ultimately underwhelmed. 11/19
I also was underwhelmed by it. Blanchett and all the performances were great but I probably wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Also I was became aware that you can apparently have (a) surgery to repair the ligament damage, or (b) surgery to replace the ligament.
Niners suggesting surgery to repair, which would be the 6 month-ish timeframe.
Complete reconstruction is more the 12 month recovery….
