Army scored the next three goals but when Alyssa Studdert found Kennedy Mason with 7:19 before the half the Golden Bears (1-5) were within a goal at 4-3.

LAS VEGAS (AP) Leilani McIntosh scored 19 points and tied her career-high with five 3-pointers as eighth-seeded California beat ninth-seeded Washington State for the third time this season, posting a 65-44 victory on Wednesday in the opening round of the Pac-12 Tournament. The 19-point margin of victory is the largest for the Golden Bears in the Pac-12 Tournament since beating Washington State, 77-58, on March 7, 2019 in the opening round.
I think we may be getting a little ahead of ourselves. You see very few college coaches matriculating up into the pros nowadays. And the track record has not been good historically with those hires. Billy Donovan and Brad Stevens are prolly the last that I can recall. One won two chips and the other at least got to a championship final. We’re awhile away from touching those heights, and I’d gladly take the bargain of losing Madsen if that was the cost to get there.
No benefit in worrying about it. I hope Madsen has so much success here that he is mentioned as a candidate in every coaching search going forward. And if he leaves in three to five years as a result of that success, so be it. It will mean that we have had success and he has put the program in a better situation for the hand off to the next coach. Been fooled before, but I think he's sticking it out at least as far as to the extent of the promises he has made to himself and to the institution.

An 11-point first half followed by a relatively torrid 19 point second half that got their game total to 30 in a 79-30 loss. Oregon had one player hit three field goals and two others with two. Their three leading scorers had 9, 8 and 6 points. The Ducks shot 18.9% from the field and an incredible 7.7% on three pointers (1-13). Fortunately they hit 75% of their free throws for nine points, nearly a third of their point total. Also the Buffalos had four times as many assists as Oregon, 24-6. That's what I call a blowout.
Oregon has really fallen far and fast. That program is going to have to have a complete reset going into the B1G. Only question is do they think Kelly Graves, who has some notable accomplishments on his resume, is the guy for the rebuild, or is definitely not the person for the job.

Don’t poke fate too much…until they hire a new coach, there’s still a chance they jack Madsen…
I have no real fear of Mad Dog jumping ship just yet, even for the Farm. Loyalty is his m.o.
I totally agree regarding Madsen’s character, and I would be surprised if he bolted after a year.
HOWEVER, it IS Jim Knowlton and this IS Cal, sooooooo pretty much every scenario is on the table, if we’re being honest.
I feel much like with Mariucci, the larger concern with Madsen would probably be jumping to the pros.
My worry is in, let's say 5 years, if the next Furd coach flames out and MM has us making the NCAA a few times, they come calling again.
No benefit in worrying about it. I hope Madsen has so much success here that he is mentioned as a candidate in every coaching search going forward. And if he leaves in three to five years as a result of that success, so be it.
