seems like not such a great trade to me. i rather liked Poole and was hoping he and Wiggins would be core of new Warriors dynasty.
also, is Paul going to be back up point guard? i suppose he could be a stabilizing influence w/ 2nd unit or in the moments that Ws play like idiots for long stretches.
The Poole contract was a killer especially with him borking it last season. Was reading that with Curry off the floor, the Warriors were absolute dogshit. This move dumps the brutal contract, gives them a piece for next season that either becomes highly tradeable or releasable to reduce the luxury tax. I get the move...
Yes it was. I felt at the time that it was unwarranted. Honestly, I was much less than sanguine about Poole's contributions to the '22 title run. He often ran himself out of a shot and a pass was made worse by his position on the floor.
I don't know much about basketball, but I can see obvious tendencies and he didn't correct that one or improve upon it.
He has always been extremely important to their style of play so they'd always want to keep him (plus there is the emotional attachment, keeping the fan base happy, etc.).
Stabilizing the 2nd group with a solid, albeit old PG is a great move for them, and his contract is way more flexible than Poole's. Also there was no way they are willing to lose Draymond and there were definite off floor issues all of last season likely due to the punch. I just hate that it is my least favorite NBA player Chris Paul.
Aside from injury or some particular match up, I doubt there is a scenario in which Paul starts at PG, he is going to back up Steph. The key here is keeping Paul healthy so he can 1) contribute at least minutes per game and 2) be available in the playoffs.
Thompson Twins taken back to back. Just like their birth, Amen Thompson was drafted one minute before his brother Ausar. The twins were born and raised in San Leandro before moving to Florida to focus on basketball.
Warriors draft Santa Clara's Brandin Podziemski in the first round. He shot 48.3% and 43.8% from 3. In comparison, Klay Thompson shot 45.0%/39.0% and Steph shot 46.7%/41.2%
Plus four year starter and All B1G player Trayce Jackson-Davis with the 57th pick, off loading PBJ. Which both helps salary issues and might be a sneaky good pick if he turns into a solid bench player.
There are nearly infinite different styles of Borscht. The one that I'm most used to is the northern Ukrainian poverty-version. Cabbage, potatoes, a weak-ass meat-broth, and beets - topped with bland flour "dumplings". It's the version that is sold in the markets near my mother in law's house in Brighton Beach. While I am sure you can sex up Borscht, I am not a fan of that version.
About tv appearances where Trump incriminates himself? Yeah... Jack Smith submitted them as evidence and they are absolutely being used against him. I guess he had the right to remain silent...
Attended an entirely new Opera last night- El último sueño de Frida y Diego. Very interesting, new this year (I think) and about artists at least I am very familiar with their work. We found that it might have good music, but lacked drama and action. Very good dinner before at Monsieur Benjamin - street parking free!
The Bear S2 (E1-2). Season 1 was a frenetic and loud clash-of-cultures in the kitchen and people's lives. The physical pacing of season 1 was occasionally punctuated by a gut-punch reveal of a character's personal challenge and let you sit in that pain. People worked like mad because they would wallow in that pain whenever they sat still.
Season 2 shifts gears. It's tone is now resolve - the conflict is less person against person, more team against the odds. The slower pacing exposes some actors weaker acting abilities, but the writing is still very good. 14/19, points off for sub-par acting - but I'm still all in.
It was a quiet day for the Pac-12 in the NBA draft outside of UCLA. fUCLA's Jaime Jaquez taken in the 1st round (18th) , WSU's Mouhamed Gueye taken (2/39), UCLA's Amari Baily (2/41), UCLA's Jaylen Clark (2/53).
Bears get an apparent commit from a '25 RB: Carter Jackson from Granite Bay. He joins JoJo Solis. If they both stick, that will be pretty impressive backfield. I am especially excited about Solis.

That Poole contract was an albatross.
Absolutely agree. Plus, giving such a large deal to a guy that was awful on D was puzzling…
Not to mention that they probably want to keep Draymond and it's probably not tenable with Poole still around.
Not a Warrior fan, but keeping Draymond seems dumb to me.
He has always been extremely important to their style of play so they'd always want to keep him (plus there is the emotional attachment, keeping the fan base happy, etc.).

Draymond punched Poole so hard that Jordan landed only a few blocks from the Smithsonian Air & Space museum
Talk about your ulterior motives.
Not just Poole but they also traded PBJ for a late 2nd round pick.

ESPN is currently rearranging their depth chart. They had Paul at PG, Curry at SG and Klay at SF. Now the depth chart is mostly empty...

They chart is now about back to where is was just after the Poole/Paul trade. They added Podziemski as the 5th option at SG
