After suffering its first loss since August, the California women's soccer team is back home at Edwards Stadium for a tough pair of matches. The Golden Bears face No. 1 Virginia on Thursday and a Virginia Tech team that was a preseason top-15 selection Sunday. Thursday's match marks the team's ACS Breast Cancer Awareness game and Sunday is Senior Day.
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has locked in tipoff times and television designations for the 2025-26 men's basketball season, with California set for 19 televised tests in its second season in the conference. All 18 of the Golden Bears' ACC regular-season games will be televised, along with a nonconference clash against UCLA at Chase Center as part of the Empire Classic.
California freshmen Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele and Luke Ferrelli have been added to the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award watch list, the Maxwell Club announced Tuesday.
Sagapolutele, an Ewa Beach, Hawaii, native, has thrown for 1,487 yards and nine touchdowns through six games this season for the Golden Bears. Sagapolutele has been named the ACC's Rookie of the Week two times through six weeks of play.
Are the Yankees going to lose and get knocked out?
It kind of is unfair for the AL teams that they didn't get an extra day off. The NL teams got an extra day off between games 1 and 2 because they wanted all DS games to start on the same day but then alternate without an off day.

My dad was an oral surgeon. He hated gum too. I'm paraphrasing, but he said something along the lines of "your jaw tendons are like rubber bands. You might want to save them for later in life when you need to, like, eat or something rather than chewing gum now."
I usually buy either Extra Spearmint or Polar Ice. Every so often I'll get Bubble Yum or Big League Chew for childhood memories.
Does anyone remember the square gum that used to have the mint gel in the middle? When you chew through the outside, the minty gel came out. Forgot what it was called.
Conversion therapy is nothing more than psychological trauma dressed up as "helping kids become normal". Which, of course, is like trying to hammer a round peg into a square hole. This compulsion towards conformity speaks of massive insecurity in my view. Some folks just need to relax.
The Milwaukee Brewers took game 2 of the NLDS over the Cubs Tuesday evening, behind three homers and a strong performance from Milwaukee’s bullpen in what turned out to be a full-blown bullpen game.
More excellent starting pitching from the Dodgers and Phillies was on display on Monday night in Philadelphia, with zeroes through six innings. The Dodgers broke through in a four-run seventh inning then lived through a disastrous ninth inning to escape Citizens Bank Park with a 4-3 win and a 2-0 lead in the best-of-5 National League Division Series.
I have felt all season that the Dodgers sketchy bullpen and Dave Roberts' sketchier management of it will ultimately be their downfall, and nothing I've seen has dispelled that analysis.
I agree. Now that Vesia, who was probably their most reliable reliever, is probably dead tired, there really isn't anyone that is reliable. Sasaki is explosive, but isn't used to throwing every couple of days, or in the playoffs, on back to back days. Which is why Roberts was avoiding him until absolutely necessary. Though he already had gotten more or less hot earlier in the game, so at that point, just put him in for the 9th.
I don't trust Vesia at all, his K #s not withstanding. Treinen is the only one I trust generally, but he didn't get it done last night. I actually think Sasaki should have been used more to get him reliable, but Roberts' pitching management is deplorable.
For the most part, Treinan didn't look good. He had a few games where he looked OK, but for the most part his movement isn't what it used to be and when he misses, it's down the middle. Similar to Tanner Scott for most of the season.
John Clarke, UC Berkeley emeritus professor, awarded 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics
The Nobel Prize committee honored Clarke "for the discovery of macroscopic quantum mechanical tunneling and energy quantization in an electric circuit." These circuits were forerunners of the qubits in many quantum computers.
Clarke shared the prize with two other physicists, Michel H. Devoret and John M. Martinis, who at the time of their prize-winning research were at UC Berkeley. Devoret is now at Yale University and UC Santa Barbara, while Martinis is at UC Santa Barbara.

I hate gum. The sound. The smell. The look. People snapping or popping their gum drive me up a wall.

i dislike it too. the flavor lasts about 5 seconds and then you are just chewing on plastic for a while.
also, i cant blow bubbles ..
