I do like driving around SF in the Miata. Not at crazy speeds though. I did used to watch some Streets of SF with Karl Malden and Michael Douglas (I think) after school.
A very long time ago, I was in Hyde Park, London with an English girl I used to know. We were in the corner of the park nearest Buckingham Palace at the Canada Memorial, which is a monument to the countries' shared bravery as allies in war, if I recall correctly.
In my youthful stupidity, I decided to tell her the old, stupid joke about how Canada got its name. Short version is that the nation's fathers couldn't decide on a name so they put all the letters of the alphabet into a hat and then pulled them out and read them aloud one at a time. "C, eh?...N, eh?...D, eh?"
When I was finished with that stupid joke, she tells me, "Sorry, I don't understand your story, but while you were telling it, the queen herself drove right behind you." The English are so polite, she didn't want to interrupt, even to point out Her Majesty.
i have noticed the pretty often WordleBot "goes for the win" on the 3rd guess whereas i am still searching and eliminating.
i dont have a mathematical accounting of how many words are left, so it is possible that those bold guesses by WordleBot that often contain double letters are equally efficient in exploring and eliminating words
In his sixth game with the San Francisco Giants, the veteran catcher hit two home runs off Yoshinobu Yamamato (3-3), the second happening one pitch after Harrison Bader took Yamamoto deep in the 5th inning. That put the Giants up 3-2 and they went on to defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers for the fourth time in five games.
LOS ANGELES — The Dodgers are piling up bad losses, and this time the slumping offense had company. Yoshinobu Yamamoto allowed three home runs for the first time in Major League Baseball in a 6-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium.
Mets break out the bats. Beat the Tigers 10-2 on a cold, windy night at Citi Field.
we went to this game. despite the midday 70 deg temps, the mercury dropped quickly. it was chilly. we left after the 5th inning.
fun things
1 - saw a Mets rookie, Ewing, make his MLB debut. his first at bat was a walk. he got a triple later.
2 - saw some good D by the Mets. the pitcher, Peralta, was backing up 3rd baseman on a throw from the outfield. the ball would have gone into the dugout, but Perlata grabs it and throws the runner out at home.
STANFORD — After shooting a 1-over-par 72 on Monday, senior Adora Liu shot a 4-over-par 75 on Tuesday, ending the day in a tie for 36th place at 5-over par in the second round of the NCAA Stanford Regional. Starting on hole 10, Liu earned three straight pars before bogeying four of the next six holes to end the back nine at four over.
The California men's basketball program welcomes home a former Golden Bear in Richard Midgley, who has been hired as deputy general manager for men's basketball. A 2006 Cal graduate, Midgley has been serving in the Brooklyn Nets scouting department and also has experience as a financial advisor and basketball coach.
The final week of the regular season has arrived for the California baseball team, which hosts Stanford in a three-game series that begins Thursday night at Evans Diamond at Stu Gordon Stadium.
The Golden Bears (27-24, 10-17 ACC) are coming off a three-win week having defeated Pacific 2-1 in a midweek road matchup before taking two of three on the road at No. 23 Virginia for their first ranked wins of the season. Cal has already surpassed its win count from last season of 24 and has set a new program-best picking up its 10th ACC win on Sunday with three games still to be played. The Bears will be looking to keep their momentum going with a strong performance in this rivalry series that will play a huge role in seeding for the ACC Tournament, which begins May 19.
Our rugby team did it AGAIN! Our Golden Bears won their 35th all-time national championship - this time, defeating an impressive Navy team 36-22 in a hard-fought battle in the title match. We've now won 30 national crowns in XVs competition and another five in sevens play. Head coach Jack Clark has won a staggering 31 of those national championships. Coach Clark and his program are certainly the gold standard for intercollegiate rugby, and we are incredibly proud of their accomplishments!

ACC supports 24-team CFP model that gives 'hope' to all teams
why not a 100 team playoff? oh wait that's what we used to have and no one liked it!
Most of the extra 12 teams will be SEC/B1G. Maybe an extra ACC or Big-12
I’m getting closer and closer to being done with the whole thing.

Street. Such a great view coming down the hill going north.
probably fun to drive Miata around the streets of SF?
sort of like "The Streets of SF" that show where the cops chase the bag guys all over the city at high speeds

This would've been cool though.

this is one of my favorite areas to walk around and probably the one i am most familiar w/ over the years.
on a nice sunny day (rare in London) this is among the best places to hang out
