Leftover jerk chicken on a stale off-brand tortilla with some mozzarella cheese (which I want to use up before it goes bad), homemade pickles, and some hot sauce. x3. Not great, but it did the job.
Not lunch, but last night we went to a restaurant about a 10 min walk from the hotel that was recommend by a local. I had the risotto with beef bone marrow, and it was AMAZING! So rich. I shared it with others at the table because no way was I finishing it.
Sides included burrata, octopus, and calamari on our table, and an extra truffles and pasta. Others had gnocchito with various seafood (a little too much tuna flavor in the sauce), Veal Milanese (very much like Schnitzel), and sea bass.
In Bird’s autobiography, he wrote about having great skill in the following move: stand behind a player with the ball, pull on his waistband, yanking him backwards, then falling down, drawing an offensive foul.
I remember in middle school during PE we tried different track and field events and we did the "high" jump and we were taught the Fosbury flop. Was a lot of fun.
I did one year of high school track before I discovered volleyball. The high jump was a secondary event for me (the 400 was my primary). I sucked at it, so I definitely gained an appreciation for the athletes with crazy hops who can successfully execute the Fosbury flop. Seeing them was one of those times in my sports career when I became abundantly clear of my athletic ceiling.
Did y'all know that there's plans to build a 134 story skyscraper...in Oklahoma City?
I don't know why you'd spend that much to engineer such a structure in a state where land is practically free, but sure. And don't worry about the wind, either.
Slick Watts was my favorite Sonic; so fun to watch. One year he led the league in both assists and steals, becoming the first to accomplish the feat. Sad to see he died last year at age 73.
Experience won out over youth as Eduardo Rodríguez outdueled Emmet Sheehan to lead the Diamondbacks to a 4-1 win over the Dodgers. The reigning back-to-back champs rolled into town with the Diamondbacks having scored only three runs in their last two games—and for a team that managed to hit three home runs, the Diamondbacks offense could’ve done a lot more than just those four runs, even if they turned out to be more than plenty for the home squad. The Dodgers even took the early lead but allowed one home run in each of the sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to surrender control of this one, with those first two coming against Emmet Sheehan before Ketel Marte gave the Diamondbacks a bit of cushion with a two-run shot in the bottom of the eighth against Jack Dreyer.
At the farmers market over the weekend saw an older guy with a t-shirt that said California Golden Bears Baseball. I told him I liked his shirt and said Go Bears. Got kind of a grunting noise in return. I was disappointed.
Tony Gonzalez, Marshawn Lynch and Ron Rivera are the California representatives on the 2027 College Football Hall of Fame national ballot announced Monday by the National Football Foundation (NFF). The Golden Bear trio is looking to join 17 former Cal players and a total of 21 affiliates of the school's football program previously enshrined in the esteemed Hall with the most recent Alex Mack as a member of the Class of 2025.

crappy catered lunch on first day of 3-day sales offsite. from Jersey City, we have fantastic views of NYC skyline.

Flop
The first cards put down in competition-style poker
Saw the Valkyries play Indiana Fever. Caitlin Clark is quite the flopper.
that's how you win 2x MVP according to HAG
Well, that does seem to be a big part of it. LeBron, SGA, Bird.
Bird? Was not a flopper.
In Bird’s autobiography, he wrote about having great skill in the following move: stand behind a player with the ball, pull on his waistband, yanking him backwards, then falling down, drawing an offensive foul.
He is my favorite player ever. I may have spent many hours watching his highlight videos.
I remember in middle school during PE we tried different track and field events and we did the "high" jump and we were taught the Fosbury flop. Was a lot of fun.
i liked flopping on the soft mat.
high jump is definitely a high skill event. i generally did better on those because i was not tremendously athletically gifted.

I'm so happy OKC got knocked out.
I am still unwilling to accept that OKC has a team, so I am too.
Both OKC and the Spurs are so good, so young, and so deep that I'm afraid they're gonna have the league on lock for the next five years.
If Adam Silver has any Commissioner Stern in him, he'll fix the finals for the Knicks.
