Welp, I have officially gotten my apartment in Bordeaux. It's an awesome 3/2 penthouse in a five-story building with a North American-sized elevator, a huge roof deck, and a dryer. Wanna see my neighborhood? https://maps.app.goo.gl/u5tvcHjbBrsGvja46
BRB...buying tickets to Bordeaux! My aunt does live in Paris and I'm trying to convince my mom should go and visit her. My aunt is starting to have memory issues.
It is literally on the outer edge of Old Town, so it has all the charm of a medieval/renaissance city but all the benefits of being outside (ie. better transport, shopping, open air, services that you want). I even have a parking spot, but I'll wait to get a car. I literally have a farmer's market outside my door every wednesday, and have the city's best grocery store half a block away, have a gym half a block away. We are also one of the few six story buildings, whereas most are four stories tall. So I have a view of the terracotta rooftops of Old Town.
My cable package has a channel H&I (heroes and icons). Late morning it shows MacGyver followed by the A-Team. Can’t remember which Southeast Asia country I was in but I remember getting back to the hotel one evening, turned on the TV, and there was MacGyve dubbed in the local language.
I thought he was a cop and maybe injured on duty? Then the knight foundation changed his face and fixed him up. Maybe. I do remember his original name was Michael Long.
I'd really have to go back and re-watch them. In my mind, they're all F'ING AWESOME. But I don't know if that's just because I was 12.
The A-Team was funny because nobody ever died. Like, they'd shoot down a helicopter with a bazooka, it would crash and explode, and then they'd show the bad guys limping away coughing.
Knight Rider is pretty iconic. When Kitt would back out of a moving semi, it was goddamn epic. And that show had all-time theme song.
I remember loving The Fall Guy, which also had a great theme song, but I barely remember what it was about, aside from that he's a stuntman.
Almost home this morning and a whole group of Deloitte employees was walking down the sidewalk taking up the whole thing. I had to run out into the bike lane and as I went by heard someone say something about Virginia Tech. Was sorely tempted to shout out Virginia Tech sucks.
They would just think you’re a UVA fan. Some wags from UVA promulgated the hilarious myth that a Hokie (the Virginia Tech mascot) is a castrated turkey. Interestingly the word hokie originally comes from a student cheer, just like Oski does.
Atlanta Dream moved games 3 and 4 of The Finals to the Hawks' arena, instead of the tiny gym they played in this season. They should have had this worked out months ago, but glad they got there in the end. Good on the Hawks for adjusting their tip-off time a bit to accommodate.

2.5 hour TGV ride from Paris. Nice.
Europe and France are somewhat deceiving in size and travel times.
indeed only 2.5 hours to Paris, but an 8 hour drive to the Alps and 9 hrs on a train .. mostly because you have to go back to Paris!!
after a fun trip to the cycling worlds this year, i am seriously wanting to go to next year near Chamonix.
might be hard if i am also taking vacation in Oct. maybe i'll just work remotely for a bit from France
looks like it is right in the middle of town. nice

rank em' - action shows of yesteryear
- The A-Team
- MacGyver
- Knight Rider
- The Fall Guy

A couple others I kind of remember: Streethawk (Knight Rider on a motorcycle), Blue Thunder (not as good as the movie), Viper (90s),
MacGyver, Knight Rider, The A-Team, Fall Guy (never watched).
MacGyver by far is #1, followed by Knight Rider. I have downloaded and rewatched the entire MacGyver and Knight Rider.
I thought he was a cop and maybe injured on duty? Then the knight foundation changed his face and fixed him up. Maybe. I do remember his original name was Michael Long.

Mythbusters did the whole drive up the back of the semi if I remember.
What was the result?
And did they also drive out of the moving semi? That always seemed harder to pull off to me.
i was randomly watching a rerun of the A-Team last night. forgot how funny it was compared to something like MacGyver which was always so serious

Cal
Wife saw a guy in a Cal hat in Bordeaux France. She did not fire of a "Go Bears". I have failed as a husband and a mentor.
Never been to Bordeaux myself, but my Bowles Hall suite-mate spent a study-abroad year there. He called it Bored-Oh.
i am equally bad husband

I've had so many friends with no relation to Cal reach out to me to say how awesome the Grateful Dead themed unis are.
