Golden Nuggets: Hall of Fame, Bumpy Brains, and some All-Conference Selections
Just because school is out doesn't mean the nuggets stop coming.
Hello and welcome to Golden Nuggets! In this weekly write up, we try our best to cover all things Cal, Berkeley, Bearkeley UC Berkeley, University of Cal Berkeley, University of Berkeley at Cal, BerkeleyInspire, and California Berkeley University that happened more or less in the last week! Let’s dig in!

Hot Links
College Gameday won an Emmy for Outstanding Studio Show and I choose to believe it was for their appearance on campus here at Cal (The Emmys think so too since they used Daniel kicking a field goal for $100k)
Berkeley found a new way to call someone stupid. A new study finds that more small grooves in the brain’s surface is linked to stronger network connectivity (important for the 5G Microchip) and better reasoning ability. Read more here.
Another obituary was written for beloved Campus Tavern “Bear’s Lair”, rebranded to be fresh and trendy with none of the mystery stickiness or charm.
UC Berkeley EECS Professor Stuart Russell was elected to the Royal Society! I’m assuming that now means he holds land somewhere in Britain?
The EA College Football 2026 slow leak began this week with the reveal of the Deluxe Edition cover which includes, prominently, right under the logo, a supposed member of Rally Committee. Another cultural victory for Cal. I kind of got the hint after they rejected my early version.
