Jaylen Brown wins Eastern Conference Finals MVP, heads to his 2nd NBA Finals
Can he finally win it all?
Jaylen Brown earned the most lucrative contract in NBA history last yearr, signing a five-year supermax extension worth up to $303.7 million with $283 million guarantee.
Throughout the Eastern Conference Finals, he proved he was worth every penny. Brown averaged 29.8 points per game, shooting 52% from the field and 37% from three, and made the huge plays down the stretch to help bring his Boston Celtics back to the NBA Finals for the second time in three years. Brown earned Eastern Conference Finals MVP honors for his efforts.
With the Pacers on the verge of stealing Game 1, he hit the crucial game-winning three. Brown had 26 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
In Game 2, he put up a 40 point masterpiece to help put Boston up 2-0.
Brown had an efficient Game 3 with 24 points, as he supported Jayson Tatum in his 36-10-8 performance.
In Game 4, he had the crucial sequence down the stretch, getting the clutch block on the Pacers and the clutch assist to Derrick White for the game-winning 3. He led the Celtics with 29 points, with six rebounds and three steals.
We could be on the verge of a Cal vs. Cal NBA Finals, as Jason Kidd has coached the Dallas Mavericks to a 3-0 lead in the Western Conference Finals. We could know as soon as tomorrow!
As a Laker fan, I do not want the Celtics to win any more championships. But I do want Jaylen Brown to win. Quite the predicament.
I suppose Mavs (including Kidd) winning but Jaylen getting Finals MVP would be the proper balance.
Love me some Jaylen Brown
