Five of Cal's first six games on the Pac 12 Network that requires most people like me to subscribe to a streaming service - in this case Sling - in order to watch. I am making the assumptive close that Cal/Colorado will not be an attractive match-up for the national networks.

The last couple (or more? I lost track) seasons, I usually sign up for SlingTV with the sports package from the first game on Pac-12 Networks and cancel immediately after the last game (so the Big Game this year since the UCLA game is a Fox national broadcast. It sucks, but it's better than early on when there was no option if your cable/satellite provider didn't have Pac-12 Networks and you couldn't hack a stream (not that I ever did that...).

Yes Sir. I got Sling immediately and watched that exciting UC Davis game. I might add that getting out-casted to so many regional Pac 12 Network games is not a good look for a team that is supposedly auditioning for an invite to the B1G.

Well, maybe we brought this on ourselves by scheduling some very unexciting non-conference opponents. UC Davis and UNLV aren't getting you on any major national networks.

Good point. Of course the Notre Dame game was national on NBC, generating some exposure for Cal, fortunately for the most part we made a good accounting for ourselves by mostly playing even with our celebrated opponent and even had a shot to tie or win on the last play. I'm not sure how much buzz is generated by games on the Pac-12 network or its regional outlets (certainly not much for the latter).

P12 Network games generate pretty much zero buzz.

That said, after Colorado we'll have games against Washington, Oregon, and USC which should be on the bigger networks (and the UCLA game is already confirmed for Fox).

Just go to the game, that way if we lose you still get all the fun of the pregame and the pageantry and fan experience of the stadium. The games aren't that expensive and you can probably move to a spot with a great view. We need more fans at games.

Sounds like an excuse. My whole family regularly leads “First and 10, do it again, Go Bears” (before the 50) and “Rolllll onnnn youuuu Beaaaarrrrsss” (after the 50) cheers throughout the game. If you’re only watching for the result so be it, but as a 30+ year fan we go for the game day experience and engaging with the community that we love to be around for every home game. To each their own I guess. ….also they could use your support.
