Credit Presbyterian for finding ways to score despite not having their PG. They crashed the boards and hit their shots. And they defended energetically. The Cal zone (calzone?) finally locked them down.

No idea why we were shooting like Shaq at the line. Can't do that when we're prone to go cold from the field. We just looked out of sync with players misreading each other. Maybe we were still spent after playing K State (checks notes) last Thursday?

Yes. The calzone: you want to take a big bite out of it right out of the oven but inevitably it burns you. I liked that backups were key parts of the lineup when Cal shifted to zone. The contributions of TT Carr and Petraitis during this series of defensive stands will not show up in the box score but were crucial. A disciplined zone is hard to beat.

I was too busy trying to come up with Blue Hose wordplay that I overlooked calzone chicanery.

Petraitis is the GOAT of intangibles. Pure hustle.

The Bears’ calzone suffocated the Hose’ offense with lahar-like flows of melted mozzarella and hot prosciutto.

Cal's zone defense in the second half was a big part of the story of the second half. Surprised it was not mentioned in the recap.

Scrappy Presbyterian team that came to play. Now on to the Hornets, who are no joke either.

Thanks BP.

Way to pull out a win tonight missing a key defender and not playing the cleanest of games.

I swear I saw him start....was it an in game injury or did he not suit up (and I just imagined his presence early in the game).
