After a roller coaster season with the Golden Bears, and a bowl game on the horizon, the crazy minds who created popular parody song Ott to Go have returned to honor another of their favorite Cal players: QB Fernando Mendoza (found here). “Fernando” is a Cal Bears parody of Sabrina Carpenter’s 2024 hit “Espresso”, and was inspired by “The Drive”, a ninety-eight yard march led by Mendoza to score a game winning touchdown in the final minutes of the 127th Big Game. It serves as celebration and thank you to Cal’s stellar signal caller, who threw for 3,004 yards, and 16 touchdowns to 6 interceptions this season.
The whole team returned to work on this project. They again secured the talents of Micky Hage to sing their latest creation, with lyrics written by Admiral Bear, Atoms, and Bear of the West. The completed song was then handed off to Liberal Calgorithm to create the comedic music video. If you enjoyed this project, you can find the full 2:54 version of it on soundcloud.
