Hopefully the Fox firing is done ASAP. But seeing Knowlton operate, I wouldn't be surprised if he screws this up as well...."we are going to spend some time and evaluate the men's basketball program...Coach Fox has had to deal with a massive amount of injuries this season...etc. etc."
But at the end of the day, I think Fox will be gone. What concerns me more at this point is who gets to pick the next coach. Incompetent Jim has turned everything he's touched into a dumpster fire. We need a committee of alums (such as Shareef, Kidd, etc) picking the next coach. Or we will end up with a Fox 2.0 (a guy Jimmy feels comfortable with).
Unfortunately, despite how awful it would look, I could totally see this happening, DT....the dragging of the feet, the failure to act with any sense of urgency...a Knowlton hallmark.
In news that should surprise absolutely no one, Ole Miss has targeted Chris Beard as it's next coach after terminating Kermit Davis (10-18, 2-13) 2 weeks ago. I'm so envious...not that I am advocating for Chris Beard and the baggage, a non-starter for Cal, but at the decisive and aggressive move by the Ole Miss AD. The fact that a 3-29 (3 and F-ING 29!!!) season is now complete yet Mark Fox remains employed is a horrible look for Knowlton.
The off-season gathers, and so our watch begins. It shall not end until Mark Fox is fired. We shall take no excuses, hold no season tickets, foster no enthusiasm. We shall wear no jerseys and win no games. We shall live and die in the post.
Out of nowhere, with the end most imminent, I’m kinda torn…
If Knowlton fires Mark Fox, and then hires Tim Miles or Ben Howland next week, has anything really changed?
Suddenly, I am terrified of this possibility…I used to think anyone was better than Wyking, and then we got Fox. Now here I’ve started to think anyone is better than Fox…unless it’s just another Mark Fox….
All signs leads to Pasternack IMO. I wish it would be a little more of a wide open field, but Pasternack has some very cozy relationships with Cal that makes me believe it's his to lose.
A year ago, with Gates on the market, I would have been pretty disappointed about Pasternack...now, after this 3-29 disaster, I've kind of been completely worn down by what's become of the program and am totally cool with him. He's certainly not my #1, but as stated above, the Tim Miles chatter is a bit too loud for my liking.
I used to despise the B-52 ditty Love Shack...hated it. Couldn't stand to hear it on the radio, at a bar, anywhere. Then I got a catering bartending gig in Saratoga Springs, and worked a schitt-ton of weddings over an 18 month period. I heard Love Shack so many times, it wore me down. Found myself singing it after awhile...now I'm indifferent. This is like that.
Also to set the record straight, I don't like Love Shack now....I've just been beaten down by it by hours of systemic abuse whilst working weddings.... ;-)
My fear is that because of the possible McKeever investigation, Christ institutes a hiring/firing freeze on the department while Knowlton's involvement is sorted, Cal misses a vital window to act, and we are subsequently stuck with Mark Fox for yet another season.

Another L. 69-52. Feel for the team
More of the same. Sad Bears!
Who is ready for tarmac season!
Wilner predicts by noon tomorrow.
Beginning tomorrow at 9 am, the longer it takes for the press release to hit, the worse it makes Jim Knowlton look....
Time to put on your big boy pants, Colonel, and pull the f-ing trigger.
What would 2022-23 Cal's mens basketball record be if Fox had been replaced by Teri McKeever before it began?
More wins for sure
Wazzou had the chance to double-up Cal by half time, but the Bears played tough in the last 30 seconds. Extend?
(too soon?)
Didn't even take Roxy 30 seconds of game action to reference Cal's injuries.
Such a disappointing talking point.

Need my Cal MBB brethren!!

B funny when Cal gets all hot and bothered over Pasternack, then Furd slips in and grabs him and we end up with Miles.
That’s a very real
possibility.
I have zero faith in Knowlton to handle this effectively. Zero. Dude is the wrong man for the job.
3-29. Hard to fathom
I’m sorry you like Love Shack now. I hope Pasternack is better than Love Shack. But if Pasternack is Love Shack, what is Fox?
I'm throwing Solid, by Ashford and Simpson into the mix.
I like Solid!
Also to set the record straight, I don't like Love Shack now....I've just been beaten down by it by hours of systemic abuse whilst working weddings.... ;-)
ahhh, similar experiences with spin, weight, kick boxing classes. Rarely pops up lately but when and if it does....groan
I got me a car, it's as big as a whale
Fits how many?
Wish I had a good crystal ball.
Sounds like the AD may have other things, like his own job, in his mind.

If I was at ate game, I'd start a chant: Tarmac, Tarmac, Tarmac.....
