Vision, quickness, balance, effort. This dude looks great. Special teams work, sprinting way down field to block for a receiver. Check out his freshman year as well: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/6499169/5bd3aee82347af0528fdce1a

Olb Marquez Bimage officially at Cal... Texas transfer

"Stable of Studs" is a bit of a stretch my opinion. Cal's running backs might be the position group that has the most to prove this season. They ranked 11th in the conference last year in yards per attempt, ahead of only USC. And we know that USC does not really need to run the ball when every starting receiver on their roster will play on Sundays.

Here's to finding the next Patrick Laird, who was the last 1,000 rusher at Cal in the 2017 season.

Looks like a nice pick-up. I hope one of the backs emerges as the go-to guy. Maybe that's Damien Moore, maybe Street, Stredick, or Brooks. Not sure if Christopher Brown, with his history of injuries, will remain the featured back.

Agreed, looks like a real solid pickup. Athleticism, speed....much needed. Heck, the featured back may soon be thing of the past, bc of the pounding they take, so you can never have too many...the workhorse RB is already a thing of the past in the NFL, with only a handful of guys being true bell cows, and major college football is next. Ott looks like a great add.

Excellent news!!

Great news but after last year, I won’t get too excited until he actually signs with Cal.

Yes, this. And with the new transfer rules creating free agency, I'm not getting too excited until a guy actually graduates from Cal, TBH.

Curious if the new NLI program will have frosh and sophomores transferring if they can't monetize their status at certain schools like they could at Alabama/Clemson, etc. Hence Cal has a comprehensive monetization program (featuring Haas, etc.) so these kids can become erstwhile tycoons in their time. We're in for big changes, folks.

I can foresee start-ups focusing on the NLI space raising money from VC's to fund players and their marketing schemes-- could happen.

The NLI program will be fascinating to watch. I just saw Master-P's kid just signed a $2M deal, as a hoops player for TN St....granted, he's the son of a famous performer that had some decent D-1 offers, but the PG at TN St doesn't figure to be a household name?

So what I don't understand, as I am not a huge student of economics...doesn't there need to be a market for a player for them to really cash in from the name and likeness deal? Sure, Chase Garbers has a following amongst Cal fans and Slovis has a following amongst SC fans....but Kedon figures to bury Chase from an NLI perspective...no?

NLI is great for college athletes, but it doesn't really matter much if no one really gives a shi!@$ about you anyways and the market is small, no? Sure, Garbers will capitalize on selling #7 jerseys, but how many people will really be wearing Chase Garbers jerseys anyways.....or am I missing something?
