Do we need to recruit another FB if we're going back to using that position? Like I've said 2-300 times, Oregon State has, as a preferred walk-on, the top FB recruit in the country out of Jesuit HS in Portland. LET'S. OFFER. HIM. A. SCHOLLY!!!!!!!
Just because hes good doesn't mean hes a fit at Cal, do you have his GPA handy? Know his personality and character? If he even would be interested in living in the bay? Etc
Of course I don’t as he’s not a good friend of mine. The larger point is that we want to incorporate the FB position but didn’t recruit a FB. I’m sure you can see the wisdom of looking, even late in the cycle, for someone who has ACTUALLY played the position, and maybe even proven themselves like we do for EVERY OTHER POSITION on the field. I’d call him low-hanging fruit, but I suspect there are other FB recruits out there who could be brought on if college football in general is moving away from employing that type of run game.
I’m very excited about the new offense, but also the new wrinkle on the defense. The STAR position will add a new dynamic element that I’m looking forward too.
Given that so much of Spring Football fell by the wayside--if the health crisis fades by August--will the NCAA give waivers to allow Fall camp to be longer, to make up for the lost practice time in the spring?
Thanks for the wrap-up. Now let's just hope that the actual season materializes and we can all get back to normal. I am curious if you have any insight into the running back depth chart behind CBJ? Will Brooks get any snaps?
in 4 practices, i wouldn't pay too much attention to that. That early in spring ball, they're likely learning the formations, routes and such. If there's any QB assessment, it's along the lines of getting everyone lined up right and applying the new playbook.
A lot of that stuff is irrelevant right now. Interceptions can be a result of a ton of things: learning a new playbook, new QB and WR combinations playing against a veteran defense, etc. Spring ball with a new OC is about just learning the terminology, starting to get used to the read progression, and so forth.

I want to answer these questions and they’re all great but I’ll save them to answer them all for you in a mailbag :)
By mailbag, I'm pretty sure he means a blog post where he just responds to all the questions.
Ding ding ding
Because of Chase’s ability to run, do you see Musgrave adjusting the offense compared to the ones he ran in Oakland and Denver?

Really hope the crisis doesn't extend through the fall and affect this season. Would be a bummer to lose a season from this group of players.
