Around The Conference Table: Week 6

Almost Halfway

This season we go around our writers for their takes on the other conference games that went on in prior gameweek.

Arizona @ 9 USC (USC wins 43-41 3OT)

TD_24 - Everyone will rightfully crap on USC but my credit will go to Arizona. Noah Fifita has shown me more than I would've ever expected, wears his heart on his sleeve, and may make me reconsider an Arizona upset down the line. Jedd Fisch didn't help himself at the end of the game.

Bk97 - Once again USC's defense nearly torpedoes their season. The second half of USC's schedule is brutal, and I wouldn't be shocked if they suffer three or more losses.

Piotr T Le - Any QB not named Caleb Williams has SC losing this game and losing it badly.

Christopher_h - My hot take here: Lincoln Riley is not an amazing coach, and I don't know why his name is being floated as a potential NFL coach. He deserves credit for assembling these mega-talented rosters, but gets consistently out-coached any time his teams play a team of comparable skill. Their defense sucks, and their offense is basically Caleb Williams doing whatever he wants backyard football-style. The game-winning play at the end was the epitome of that. But hey, if he finds a fourth Heisman-winner after Williams, then it probably doesn't matter.

13 Washington State @ UCLA (UCLA wins 25-17)

TD_24 - Had a feeling the UCLA pass rush was going to make Wazzu look silly. D'Anton Lynn is going to be a star in the coaching ranks.

Bk97 - UCLA's defense is good. REALLY Good. I have a foreboding feeling it's going to be one of those 8-sack games when Cal visits Pasadena in November.

Piotr T Le - UCLA's defense if freaking terrifying. I do not look forward to playing against them Week 13.

Christopher_h - UCLA's defensive line is something else, and the UCLA defense harassed Wazzu QB Cam Ward into one of his worst games I've seen in the Pac-12. Must be nice having a defense that can pressure good quarterbacks into looking bad.

Colorado @ ASU (Colorardo wins 27-24)

TD_24 - Colorado over 3.5 cashes quickly. Shedeur going up to the ASU student section after was laughable but I'm still a Coach Prime guy

Bk97 - ASU will end this season as the best 1/2-win team in the country.

Christopher_h - USC squeaked by Colorado, ASU, and Arizona, and Colorado squeaked by ASU. Are Colorado and ASU better than people give them credit for, or is USC that overrated?

Any other thoughts?

TD_24 - Oregon vs Washington has my full attention

Bk97 - This week's Pac-12 schedule is loaded (UO at UW, USC at ND, UCLA at OSU), and finally most of it will be nationally televised. It will be a great Saturday to park on the couch and watch football all day.

Christopher_h - Congrats to Stanford for going a week without losing.
