The Cal Bears secured the commitment of Clovis North Slot Receiver Tyree “Reekus” Sams to the 2026 class. The 5-8, 175 pound receiver is rated as a 3-star prospect in the 2026 class.
He is ranked as the 50th best athlete in the class and the 73rd best prospect in the state of California. The Fresno native held offers from Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, Sac State, Northern Arizona and San Jose State. Tyree becomes the 21st commit in the class for the Bears.
Welcome to Berkeley, Tyree!
Reekus ran a 10.62 in the 100m at the CIF championship prelims as a junior. You have to be in the top 2 in your prelim heat to qualify for the championship. However, his 10.62 would have made him the 7th fastest kid in California. He's really fast.
You know who one of the fastest opponents I saw last season? Demond Claiborne from Wake Forest. Guess who is faster as a junior in the 100m?
Someone is doing a great job of recruiting these high school athletes
