Golden Bears are favorites against the winless Wildcats
California may be turning its season around. The Golden Bears have won their last two games by two scores or more, reversing a trend of three straight losses in conference play.
And Las Vegas has noticed.
The California Golden Bears (3-5, 2-3 Pac-12) are two-score favorites against the Arizona Wildcats (0-8, 0-5 Pac-12) on Saturday, Nov. 6, according to a “consensus” of U.S. sportsbooks.
The most recent Cal v. Arizona college football betting odds is California -12 and a total of 51, as of Oct. 31, according to VegasInsider.com, which aggregated the offered odds of legal sportsbooks in the U.S.
At these odds, sportsbooks expect California to win by 12 points against Arizona in Tuscon, Ariz. The “over-or-under” for total score bets is 51 points.
Most U.S. sportsbooks published opening Cal v. Arizona bet spreads Sunday at California -12 and a total ranging from 50.5 to 52.5, as reported by VegasInsider.com.
California has played its competition close this season. Of the Golden Bears’ eight games this season, four were decided by only one score—all losses for California.
Arizona is still looking for its first win of the season and faces an uphill battle against California if its play so far is any indication.
The Wildcats trail the Golden Bears in average points (16.8) and total yards (355) and have given up the most turnovers in the conference with 17.
Like I posted earlier today, Arizona has been a chamber of horrors for the Bears in recent years. I hope the guys are not overconfident as USC's win over Arizona on Saturday was only 31-24.
