Wow. Im speechless. Buckle up folks. We're about to answer the age old question of what if we had a defense with Jared Goff. This feels like the season I've waited my entire life for. Preparing to have my heart broken for the millionth time, but wow man
No sacks allowed but also had trouble opening up lanes for their RBs. I felt like the Bears just barely opened up their cupboard. There were times that JSK could’ve used his legs but did not. I am expecting that we may see more of this.
And JSK might have a better feel for throwing receivers open than either Goff or Mendoza at a similar point in their careers or it was just dumb luck. The no sacks allowed was a big improvement too. I read that the OSU head coach take on DC duties not satisfied with results last year.
What a great way to start the morning. The sun looks brighter, the grass looks greener, the sky looks bluer and the coffee tastes better.
JKS is a revelation. The Oline protection was great. I felt that we outplayed and outcoached OSI, and it seemed like players were having fun, and continuing to jell. Obviously, when you are winning, it's more fun, so we'll see when we are faced with adversity how well the chemistry holds up.
Areas of improvement that others have noted: WRs, running (especially oline play when it comes to running - although this could be due to OSU defense too), maybe a little better DB coverage?
Too early to tell on kicking, but I immediately loved the idea of using two different kickers, and we'll see if it continues to pay dividends.
I thought our Dline played really well too.
But coming back to JKS. Wow, what a baller. I know it's a hot-take, but I think everyone can see that he's the best QB that we had since Jared Goff. And even then, Jared Goff in his freshman year didn't seem as poised and accurate as what we saw from JKS on his very first game in a hostile environment. So right now, he's probably the best QB that we've seen since.... (I'm not going to finish the sentence out of feear that I might jinx something).
I had this weird hope that this year could be something special. Obviously too early, but we are definitely on the right track after game 1. We have a gettable home game next week - hoping that it could be nice tune up leading up to Minnesota which will be a big test for our bears. After that, well, I'm getting ahead of myself again, but it's hard not to!
To have unbridled optimism to start the season is an amazing thing. Let's do this Bears! Great win! Corvallis is Bear Territory!
We all looked at the schedule this year and figured it's now or never, but I don't think many were willing to hope until we saw something on the field.
this is the good stuff
holy hell
Hamper has to go take it, waited too long on it
very bad procedure from JW and Harsin to end this half
Have to agree, it was chaotic
There is a difference between confidence in your qb and asking too much of your freshman qb. This falls in the latter category.
?? What would you have done?
call a timeout once he slides down, you have two timeouts and lose time for no good reason
process not the conclusion is what I'm looking at here
Agreed; I thought you were talking about the call with 6 seconds left; a situation that never should have occurred.

If we can do something special this year, next year could be electric since our stars would have a reason to stay.
I’m not going to overreact to two drives
I’m not going to overreact to two drives
I’m not going to overreact to two drives
I’m not going to overreact to two drives
I am! Believe!
Somehow this is also correct!
Nice win.
And room for improvement.
Fantastic news.
Seen what needs to be worked on.
JKS deserves the praise. But man, let's talk about how much better the pass protection is vs last year.
Famika Anae is a legit OL coach.
TEAM!
100%
Essential for a QB who can throw the deep ball. OSU might just be really bad, but that unit looks solid so far.
first game as an alum, first win! Let's GO!!!
Welcome!
Thanks!!
Congrats!
Thanks!!
Holy shit did you see the protection?
Even on the would-be 3 and out blocking wasn't bad.
Jaw dropping
Famika!
Good morning bears!

He threw him open!! Amazing pass!!
was just thinking this - there haven't been too many plays where our WRs are getting real separation...
