A very bizarre and still fluid situation, obviously we empathize with the family of any fallen Bear. I did see the missing persons poster across my Instagram feed and considering the circumstances with her following the team bus, this just seems really odd. I don't mean to take away from the loss of a great life and I apologize if I did but this situation leaves me with a lot more questions than answers considering how close people were with her in Pennsylvania at the time.

A few slightly known details are:

Zoe Rogers, a 19-year old sophomore goalkeeper, was back home in Pennsylvania (basically the suburban part of Philly) due to Cal campus closure this semester. In addition to the remote courses, she was also coaching field hockey at her alma mater to also use the facility to stay in shape. Zoe was driving her own car following the team bus after a high school field hockey match last Tuesday when everyone lost contact with her; this information was mentioned in the missing person report that was shared on social media, but her body was found by Thursday.

It's obviously always quite tragic for someone so young to lose their life. The Cal Athletics article mentioned Zoe's involvement with this CommonBondz (https://commonbondz.org/) organization which is a non-profit organization that is trying to solve racism by fostering communications between blacks and whites. She was in a somewhat unique situation playing a sport that's predominantly white.

Thanks. I will update the article with that once I get some sources. Was hoping the Daily Cal would cover it but there was nothing I could find. Hence why I didnt write the article on Thursday
