I had the opportunity to meet Knowlton last year and was really impressed with the guy. Smart, committed and a natural leader. I think he is absolutely right to lean in here and see where there is common ground rather than taking an adversarial position...again, smart, committed leadership.
It will be interesting to see what happens when eventually a season materializes. I do think the group will have trouble collecting on the 50% revenue share with some sort of stipend being offered up by the Pac-12 as a more likely scenario. It is difficult to know if the players will accept this...
Agreed. When they joined forces with #WeWantToPlay, the scope of their demands narrowed to health-related concerns.
Knowlton said Cal student-athletes would still have access to their resources like tutors, etc., but with classes remote for the fall semester, they miss out on things like food.
