Im not sure canceling practices really helps them, theyre 1)already going to be/have been in contact with each other regardless 2)its unlikely theyll be just sitting in dorms in total isolation during that time they would have been practicing 3) Teams like Michigan canceled open practice and their spring game but they still do their regular practices - probably should have done something similar. But oh well, the decision has been made like it or not

It actually means that students can go home instead of hanging out in dorms (if that's possible for them), which is probably on balance a good thing.
Hopefully the ones who live far - if they do get to go- dont take planes then and wash their hands at every gas/pee stop
