You keep telling us about these players who are entering the transfer portal but not one word about why they are transferring. All us alumni would like to know what the hell is going on with Cal athletics.

Hey Donal,

I have withheld publishing any opinions on why players have entered the portal because I do not want to speculate. I would feel horrible if I made a claim or allegation that a player left for "money" or "better competition," only to discover the real reason was something personal or internal and is truly none of our business. I am only going off of portal entry announcements and postings on Baseball America and D1Baseball, knowing that these are niche and the Cal outreach/attention is minimal. I just want to bridge the gap with the information available. If there is information on why a player left from their mouth/people, you will know from me!

It's MONEY. Other colleges with lot's of money from endowments, etc. are offering huge amounts of cash to get good players to transfer. It's as simple as that.

Cal recruited him when no other P4/5 program was interested , and then patiently taught him how to hit P5 pitching and play 1B. He was a raw unproven talent. Unfortunately, these days gratitude and loyalty mean absolutely nothing.
