I appreciate your write ups Justin. You’re not only an effective writer, but you truly understand the game of baseball. Let’s hope Cal keeps up the offensive display in Miami this weekend. Our pitching is solid, altho we had to use our 3rd starter (who’s been solid) to “close” games 1 and 2 so we didn’t risk blowing our 8th-9th inning leads against tough ACC hitters, so he couldn’t start game 3. Espinosa has come on as a freshman but it’s a lot to expect him to start against ACC bats, altho he did well in the 3rd game until he ran out of gas in the 5th……then it was up to several mostly unproven relievers to hold them down once they tied it up 4-4, and we lost 8-5. Btw, I really like this freshman pitcher Trent Roach. He’s 6’4 and 230 built like a linebacker and he is fearless: he challenges every hitter to hit the ball and he’s got good stuff, will only get better. Several other freshman are also tall and talented but not yet fearless. Go Bears!!
