We’re in a strange MBB world. Stanfurd has a Cal Alum and we have a farm Alum. Every interview Mad Dog is VERY sensitive to our pride and traditions. Talks about the impression Cal made on him and his family. When I was in school if anyone wore a red shirt anywhere near the student section it would be literally torn off! Regardless, I’m super impressed with his portal haul. Methinks Haas will be rocking come winter. As always…. Go bears!!!
I am so looking forward to this season. I was one of the few that stuck it out, kept my season tix and made it to most of the games the last two season. I could not get anyone really to go with me except my friend Brian who is not even an Old Blue.
The team looks good on paper. I am looking forward to seeing how they mesh as a team. Askew has some adjusting to do. No more forcing bad shots. Celestine’s health is still a concern. Having a real inside presence will be nice. Lars tried but he really did not progress during his time at Cal. He never improved his hands. There’s a need for one more big.
Depends on what they are…Madsen can coach. I expect this club to be in the NIT mix at the least, which would be a remarkable turnaround in and of itself.
If Askew and Celestine stay healthy, and Grant and Okafor get the typical FR—>SO bump, this team could make a push for the bubble. Either way, they’ll be fun to watch, which is awesome.
I did not expect this kind of roster turnaround. The proof of the coaching is in the playing but at this point I can already say my doubts were wrong. I happily stand corrected even if MM is not (yet) the second coming!
Been waiting a long time to get excited about Cal basketball. Should be a little different than last year’s nightmare, when not one player could shot outside 10 ft. I don’t think we will have that problem this year. I have to give props to Knowlton on making a move. I’m usually pretty harsh on him but this looks like a good move for once.
This video of an angry TTU fan about Tyson gives me so much joy as a fan.

Can we meet these lofty expectations?

Now my wife will be mad that I'm always heading off to Berkeley. THANKS, MARK!

If Mark is as good a coach as he is on his initial recruiting foray, Haas Pavilion will be an exciting venue.
I think we'll see that he is the real McCoy.
My sense is, that he is. But before he's the second coming of Pete Newell, let's see a full season. Thanks for your comment.

You tell the story…
Go Bears!
