Which point guards have Cal basketball reached out to in the transfer portal?
The California Golden Bears have to find ball handlers for the 2024-25 ACC campaign.
IMPORTANT: The call has come out that Mark Madsen could use any additional NIL funds to help support efforts to fund Cal men’s basketball recruiting. Money is flowing free in the college transfer world, and Cal football saw great success here. Cal men’s basketball deserves our support as well.
If you have any ability to contribute to rebuild this roster, please donate to Cal Legends Collective ASAP to help support the Cal coaching staff. Thank you, and go Bears!
With the departure of Jalen Cone and Jaylon Tyson’s status up in the air, Cal does not have many reliable ball-handlers they can depend on for next season. Here is a list of point guard transfers the California Golden Bears have reportedly reached out to in the portal. In the coming days, we’ll have posts up on wings and bigs.
La Salle transfer guard Jhamir Brickus has a top five of Virginia, VCU, Cal, Loyola-Chicago, and Richmond. Brickus led the Atlantic 10 in minutes while finishing second in assists and averaging 13.9 points on 40% three-point shooting.
More details available at On3 ($):

He averaged 10.4 points, 6.3 assists (13th in the nation), 4.4 rebounds, 1.6 steals per game, shot 41.3% from the field, & shot 34.4% from 3 this season, and has made all-defense in the CAA two years running.
I’ll take the guard from UT-A because he was a freshman transfer and the guard from Hofstra because you can never enough players with pony tails!!
Thank you for the article.
You can be sure Coach Madsen is flying everywhere trying to befriend and sign the highest talents possible.
To some young men & their parents, however, it does matter who can offer them the most $.
