Cal Basketball F Gus Larson enters the transfer portal
The walk on will be looking for a new home
As the transfer portal window is coming to a close, we are getting more clarity about the roster that will take the floor in Haas Pavilion next season. With all of the commitments in recent weeks, its now a departure in the form of Gus Larson that is in the news.
Larson, who transferred from Penn this past season, recently entered the portal after one season in the East Bay. The walk on played in 28 games after the injury to ND Okafor and averaged just over a point and a rebound per game. Larson provided some solid spot minutes in spurts, and had a season high 9 points when Cal took on UTEP down in SoCal.
That leaves Devin Curtis and Vladimir Pavlovic as the only two scholarship players left from this past season, with more scholarships still available for HC Mark Madsen.
Best of luck to Gus on his next chapter!
Damn, I was on the Gus bus.
Hopefully this is because the rest of the scholarships are already more or less spoken for. Hopium is a powerful drug.
