Several new freshmen are making their mark already this fall. I wouldn’t expect all of these Bears to jump onto the field at once and start producing. But there should be a few new faces to take notice of this fall.
Let’s start with everyone’s favorite.
Running back Jaydn Ott
Since entering spring ball, Ott has consistently made one to two plays in camp that makes you go wow. During one fall scrimmage drill, Ott would often be paired up against a defender in a 1-on-1 open space tackling drill, and Ott ended up dusting a few of them with straight end speed.
Whether we like it or not, Ott is going to end up giving a lot of Cal fans those freshman Jahvid Best vibe. Ott will likely give us a handful of snaps a game to showcase that brilliant talent as he masters the offense.
There’s also another freshman that has impressed early and is likely to see the rotation earlier than expected!
