"Will you see a big lineup with both Sissoko and Dort?"
I sure hope not. That spacing would be criminal. The team is built to play 4 out with mobile 5s defending the back end. It didn't work last year because Daws couldn't (and frankly shouldn't have been expected to) be the defensive anchor because of mobility limitations. Daws would've looked a lot better if he had a 4 that could offer some rim protection playing next to him.
Does anyone know why Rodney Brown Jr., Jalen Celestine, Grant Newell, Monty Bowser, ND Okafor, and Devin Askew all transferred to other schools? They could have been the starting lineup plus the 6th man. Also, I was under the impression that Madsen was well liked by his players.
For Brown and Celestine, I think they were offered very nice NIL deals from where they ended up(VT and Baylor). For the others, not sure but I think playing time for them was important, and it was unclear where they would've fit into year 2 of the Madsen era. These are are just my own personal conjectures.
Madsen IS well-liked by his players. Tyson speaks highly of him and has helped on the recruiting front. Is there a reason you think he is disliked?
If Omot/JOJ/Petraitis can rebound effectively, we’ll be ok.
Omot PURE from the corner. Nice. He didn’t play in the scrimmage.
Great to see that.
Thanks BP
Interested to see how we defend the three. That was such a glaring weakness last year, particularly in the non-conference schedule.
Teams continue to hit low percentage 3’s against Cal.

Great that we have not one, but two guys like that so that we can maintain consistency across rotations and have a buffer for foul trouble.
We’ve gotta rebound better than we did last season.

None of those guys except Celestine (maybe Rodney Brown with a huge sophomore year jump) would be starters or even the 6th man on this team.
