Just watched the condensed game highlights and it looked like we ate them alive inside in the first half, then when they tried to double Michelle or Marta on the post in the 2nd half, found plenty of success kicking it out. Love it when the opponent tries a couple different things and none of them work.

Marta was too much of a problem - she was both too big and too crafty off the dribble.

Absolutely dominant performance. Even before Virginia’s Lattimore went down, Cal was unstoppable in the paint. An observation on the play by play commentator Pam Ward. Normally I enjoy her, such as when she does football on Saturday mornings. I understand why ACCN wanted her for this tourney, as she carries some clout as her long announcing career is nothing to sneeze at. However I wish she had taken a little more time before this game to learn about Cal’s star player Krimili. Instead, she went on about how Krimili played four years at South Florida. Then she sunk deeper into her lack of knowledge by stating that Krimili, after those four years at South Florida, decided she would try her skills on the West Coast! So I guess Krimili’s record-setting time with the University of San Francisco Dons didn’t count-understandable since it happened on the West Coast. C’mon Pam, do better.

I call that out in the bullet points at the end of the article. I also feel that she was pausing too much, looking up her Cliff Notes on everyone on Cal early in the game. She mangled a couple names before getting into the groove.

The color commentator, Stephanie White, is the coach of the WNBA Indian Fever. She was excellent both in her play breakdowns and in her fair positive and negative feedback on both teams.

Cal is still the outsider on these ACC broadcasts. The pregame hype focused on VIrginia's Kymora Johnson, with hardly any mention of the Cal team. It's frustrating.

Yeah, we’re getting a chance to see east coast bias from the inside out.

I did appreciate that at halftime the studio team owned their Cal-lessness preshow fails. They were definitely impressed with Cal at the half! But yes, do better ACC gamecallers.

I couldn’t watch but it seems they really played up to their potential.

I hadn’t heard of Pam Ward lately. She was a pioneer female sportscaster in the DC area long ago and was incredibly good so I give her a pass on her mistake.

Not I. “One day Cal will have better name recognition.” Not good enough, she should just apologize and leave it. When you’re announcing a conference championship tournament, your job is to recognize and investigate great players’ journeys. Krimili has had an incredible career. Cal is 25-7!! No excuse for a prominent announcer to not prepare. It makes it seem like she really hasn’t been that interested, which is a bad look any way you slice it. Sure, I’ll credit her for circling back to it (likely a colleague corrected her off camera), which is better than if she hadn’t.
