Excellent.. the tonic of analysis we need here in the summer doldrums. I lie… 2027 recruiting has me jacked as well. A year without doldrums! Go Bears forever!
Great write-up! I'm so much more excited about 2026 over 2025 - when just about every one of the O skill players left via the portal before fall camp. JKS had one reliable receiver in 2025 (JdJ) and one running back that could get 2-4 yards per run. Compared to 2025, the Bears in 2026 are loaded. I'm looking forward to the UNLV game where we will see if the Bears will gel on O.
I really appreciate your sobriety and the feel, think, know approach. On a pure talent basis, we are better off, no doubt. But you are right to point out that neither coordinator has done their jobs before, and the whole group will take some time to gel.
Also worth noting that our roster was loaded 2010~2012 as well, and it didn't translate to results on the field. However there's a big difference. We have a real QB this time, not Riley/Maynard/Mansion.
I want to register here that I am officially a Quaron Adams believer. I have a feeling we will be getting a few highlight plays from him where the defense is scheming to take away our receivers out wide and he just completely burns the safety down the middle.
A work in progress with a huge growth upside running the 26 table into a stellar 27. Building for long-term success. Once again, if Indiana can quickly climb to the top, there’s no reason to think Cal isn’t primed for a similar run.
Total Lubbock centric shit show...I would love it to be the trigger that leads to collective bargaining, but am not holding my breath. Too many conflicting powerful interests at play for now...may take a bigger trigger (bigger gun?). In any case, another example of what happens when there are rules without meaningful enforcement. No bueno.
School is getting more than the death penalty after all this. If their AD implodes what happens to the school, there are more than enough universities with football in Texas.

I'm so excited. It's too bad we can only distribute the ball so much. But everyone is a threat on every possession.

100%
Great analysis. I can not wait for the analysis on the O-Line. That and playable depth has been our weakness forever.
Great stuff Piotr . . .but I would guess that Mendoza, Garbers and Ross Bowers are beating out Jackson Brousseau
Yeah I was looking at the skill guys so excluding the QB position, but yes each one of those QBs, would be ahead of Broussau
Hayden Stepp and Zion White visiting tomorrow, could be a huge week.

Good analysis! JKS is AWESOME, but he isn't a good scrambler. Let's keep him safe in the pocket.
As TKE said, we are in summer doldrums - what does everyone think about the Texas Tech mess?

Yes, so out of control. Something's gotta give.
It won't matter if OL doesn't improve & I fully expect that to happen - hopefully, sooner rather than later.
