How much money is a 3* DT getting from NIL? The decision is probably more based on not wanting to risk holding the bag 3 years later when the Pac is no longer a power conference and he's playing in front of 15,000 people.

It is never fun when somebody de-commits but don't panic. The transfer portal is the new reality of college football, and he could very well re-commit down the road (like Jayden Ott did).

This sucks! Dude is built like a monster and had some dandy dance moves. I was really excited about his commitment, but also knew these kids' commitments are fickle. Oh well, if he doesn't want to be at Cal then so be it.

With the transfer portal, NIL, and 17 year old flightiness we are going to see verbals become very noncommittal. Parents will have to weigh NIL possibilities against the solid sheepskin of a degree. In the end, money talks. It's hard on the coaches as they have to be best friends, father figures, and psychiatrists all at the same time. But then again they are earning the big $$$.

Best wishes to him. Sorry for his future prospects without a Cal degree.

This is going to continue until the future of Cal and/or the pac12 is secured. No reason for him to commit to Cal over a big ten school.
