"Moneyline" bets, which pay out based on the game's result, regardless of the margin of victory or "point spread," are between Cal +108 and Cal +110, according to odds seen by Write for California on Monday. The consensus Florida State moneyline is -130.
A Cal moneyline bet at the most favorable odds of Cal +110 will pay $110 if $100 is bet on a Cal win. The Florida State -130 moneyline odds require a $130 bet on a Seminoles victory to win $100.
Cal v. Florida State college football: What you should know
The California Golden Bears and Florida State Seminoles have never met in either program's history. Cal's visit to Tallahassee, Fla., will be the Golden Bears' first conference game as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference, a league long dominated by the Seminoles.
Cal completed play last Saturday with a 31-10 home win against San Diego State. The Bears are one of seven currently undefeated teams in the ACC, while the Florida State Seminoles are the conference's only winless team. The Seminoles are coming off a 12-20 upset loss to the Memphis Tigers of the "Group of Five" American Conference in week three.
Cal is 2-1 against the spread in the 2024 college football season, while Florida State is 0-3. The Seminoles were favored in every game this season but have punished sports bettors and fans with their losses.
Sports bettors have been successful by betting the under in each of Cal and Florida State's games this season.
Florida State is arguably the best 0 - 3 team in the country. They still maintain loads of talent and have yet to put together a complete game. They are wounded and hurt and that is a dangerous combination for a team that has under performed. This will be the toughest game of the season to date for the Bears.
FSU's defense can't stop the run. If we do to them what we did in the second half to SDSU we should score plenty of points while burning up clock.
DJ and his offense have not yet encountered a defense like CAL's. DJ is not the most mobile QB and he's terrible at reads. I expect us to limit their run attack and for our takers to pick off several passes.
I think this is CAL's coming out party. If we put it all together and beat FSU with a solid performance, we will be ranked next Sunday and the Miami game may be a Game Day broadcast.
