Anything less than 8 regular season wins is a failure

In each of the last seven full regular seasons the Bears have gone either 5-7 or 7-5 . Is this finally the year for a 6-6 record? Looks likely to me.

Hey, does anyone know why they aren’t selling Jerseys on Fanatics anymore?

There should be plenty of skepticism from the Vegas boys. Cal has had a losing conference record in every year of the Wilcox era. This year's team is coming in with its most inexperienced offense since.......when? We don't know how Plummer, the presumed starter, is going to react under pressure. I was trying to buy into the Spring ball hype that this year's receiving corps could be something special, but I wonder where Cal ranks in the country with returning starter receptions. Bottom 10, I suspect.

Mix that into the brew of what should be a very good defense and you get 5 or six wins. Sort of a reprise of the 2018 season with some upsets over good teams and some head scratcher losses to teams Cal should have beaten on paper.

I concur, this is the most hesitant I've been about the Bears in several years. The lack of experience, particularly on offense, is a major concern and the biggest positive for the team is that much of the rest of the conference has question marks too. I'm trying not to look ahead too much to 2023 when, if we've developed Kai Milner well and can retain talent, I think we have a very good chance at being quite dangerous.

The biggest positive is that our offense is unknown and has a potential to be better than mediocre.
