Cal Football 2024 Pro Day results: Some impressive results for NFL Bear hopefuls
Our California Golden Bears alum got one last tune-up before the 2024 NFL Draft.
Pro Day happened a few weeks ago! How did our Golden Bears perform?
Defensive back Patrick McMorris was the only former Cal alum to participate in the NFL Combine (he also participated in the Hula Bowl), and put up a 4.29 20-yard shuttle, which would have been second among defensive backs at the combine.
Linebacker Jackson Sirmon had a great performance with the 4.26 in the 20-yard shuttle, which would have ranked third among inside linebackers at the combine. He was also solid in both the vertical jump (34' 0") and broad jump (9'11")
Wide receiver Monroe Young put up the best 40-yard dash time (4.52) and vertical jump (40' 0") of the day, while benching 17 reps of 225 pounds. His vertical jump and bench press numbers, both would have been tied for sixth among wideouts at the combine.
Running back Isaiah Ifanse posted a 4.59 40-yard dash (4.59) as well as 19 reps on the bench press. His 36.5” vertical jump which would have been eighth among running backs at the combine.
Center Matthew Cindric put up a 4.99 40-yard dash, which would have been faster than all but four offensive linemen at the combine, while also posting 23 bench press reps.
Brian Hightower, P Thomas Lee and DL Darius Long Jr. also participated.
Jackson and Sirmon can leap tall buildings!! 34’, 40’ vertical!!!
Wow! Uncontested pass receptions with 34’ and 40’ vertical leaps. Convert them to receivers.
Sirmon and Young are now automatic top first round draft picks.
