Based on history, Cal is ranked where they should be. Based on new coaching, positive recruiting and portal success, the GBs could climb the ranks of the ACC. TBH, I don't see Cal winning all of their toss up games, so until the season begins I'm stuck at 7-5 or 8-4. The Furd loss last year was particularly unexpected and completely depressing... Happy to see the Joe Roth unis for our first game, I hope that motivates the players to crush the Baby Bears. Still, GO BEARS!

I like Meyer - solid enough up to 40, but those are chip shots now. In this day and age in D1, you need to be able to consistently hit FGs up to 50. These kids have personal coaches and go to kicking camps for years - 40-49 is no longer some taboo distance. It cost us a W in Blacksburg last year, and still wish Wilcox let Murray try the potential game-winner, as he was loosening up on the sideline. Meyer’s ball never had a chance.
But good teams are getting points when you cross the opponents 35, period.
Players are better but new. The fate of the team this year will come down primarily to coaching.... Is the new staff better than the Wilcox staff?
