BOOOOOOOOOM

Such great news! Wonder why he moved away? Great addition to our team and a big Bear welcome to the young man!

He played center because their starter was injured and scheduled to return. Plus was injured in spring in a Bobby Petrino scheme. Could be a bunch of factors, but chance to get snaps are likely the #1 reason. Why Cal? Probably a relationship with Bloesch and a chance to start in any of the spots, maybe besides center

I read his scouting report...he might be a solid candidate for our weakside tackle position.

KetamineCal's avatar

Exactly what I was hoping to hear. We were getting killed there last season.

Then Alex Mack should be his hero.

OK. One more solid OL and a stud DL or EDGE and I will be a happy boy.

He was not listed on the Texas AM 3-deep coming out of Spring ball. There is your answer. Hard to say whether he had a good Spring camp or not, but it looks like that team had some guys get healthy in the off season and also may have stocked up on additional dudes in the portal. Either way, anyone with nine starts at the P-5 level is a great addition for Cal.

This is great, but why would a SEC freshman first team at aTm come to Cal? How did we do it?

Think about Texas in August...then think about Berkeley in August....

PawlOski's avatar

More and more I think of August in Berkeley in terms of AQIs sadly.

Why would a student want to transfer from Texas A&M to UC Berkeley? I can name a few reasons; how much time you got?

It's worth a few minutes to look at this kid's senior highlights. Don't know what level he played at, but he was manhandling just about everybody he faced and pushing them back in some cases to the D backfield. Also liked the way he looked downfield for blocks to extend plays. Could be a GREAT get.

HUGE! Literally and figuratively.

BIG ADDITION....literally and figuratively.

Great minds. I need to scroll before I type next time!

This is welcome news, particularly since he has years of eligibility. Let's hope he can play right away either starting or rotating in on downs.

WE HAVE THE BEEF!

Love that he already has game experience (and success) against tough competition along with multiple years of eligibility. aTm had a weird 2022 with a good start against ranked opponents, a mid-season swoon, then beat LSU. Their OC got fired and replaced by Bobby Petrino so that may have played a role. OL coach Steve Adazzio is still there. As usual, I look forward to Rugbear's analysis but I am pleased. He'll get his snaps here whether or not he's a starter.

Really awesome news, and couldn't come at a better time. "6'6" and 330." Since when have we read those numbers and thought of anywhere in the PAC-12 but Cal? So awesome!

This is great. O line determines the success of any offensive scheme.

Clearly it was the superior academic environment, Nobel Prize Winners, the best of the best education that we all took advantage of in our time as undergrads! Hahaha

Who is this Tidiane Jalloh fellow Mike Bloesch has on his twitter feed as committing to Cal?

Justbear's avatar

Looks like juco DE/OLB but not heavily recruited from P5 schools
